NDT Training

From NDT Level I to NDT Level III, equip yourself for success in the field of nondestructive testing

Dive into our comprehensive NDT training courses for all levels (I, II, III)

Our NDT training courses are designed to equip participants with a deep understanding of applicable NDT methods and techniques, and the ability to confidently perform them. We exceed the requirements set by industry standards including SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-189, NAS 410 (MIL-STD 410), and ISO 9712.

Each course is carefully structured based on the ASNT Standard Topical Outlines for Qualification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel (ANSI/ASNT CP-105-2016). We ensure all topics within the body of knowledge for the chosen method are covered, with additional topics included as necessary to fit your specific requirements.

We focus on practical application

Our unique approach goes beyond theory. NDT-CGI courses are task-based, ensuring participants not only grasp the theoretical aspects of each method but also gain hands-on experience in performing the associated tasks. This means you'll graduate with the practical skills and confidence to apply your knowledge in the real world.

We recognize the importance of customization

In addition to our comprehensive standard courses, we offer custom course development to cater to your specific requirements.

NDT training: An overview of our extensive courses

Expert-Led Instruction

Our NDT training courses are delivered by instructors with dual expertise: ASNT Level III Certification in the specific method they're teaching, combined with training in instructional methods. This ensures you receive not only in-depth technical knowledge but also clear and engaging presentations.

Course Length Based on Industry Standards

The duration of each course aligns with the requirements of relevant industry documents. Generally, surface methods (PT, MT, VT) require around 20 hours for Level II certification, and aerospace specifications might require 32 hours for PT or MT. Methods for internal inspections (RT and UT) typically involve 40 hours for Level I and an additional 40 hours for Level II.

Interactive Learning Environment

We utilize a combination of engaging learning tools to optimize your training experience. This includes PowerPoint presentations with a multimedia projector for clear visual explanations, a whiteboard for interactive discussions and clarification, and individual course materials; each student receives a comprehensive handout and a textbook for the course, if applicable.

Assessment and Practical Application

Throughout the course, quizzes will be given to gauge student comprehension. Instructors then address any areas needing reinforcement. To guarantee personalized support, classes are generally limited to eight students, ensuring adequate one-on-one time during the practical exercises.

Course Completion and Certification

Upon completion of the course, students will take an exam to verify their understanding of the topics covered. Successful graduates receive course completion certificates. Additionally, a "task" checklist ensures each student can perform all required tasks.

Learning at Your Convenience

NDT-CGI offers flexible training options to fit your needs. We can conduct training at your facility or arrange suitable facilities. Course schedules can be tailored to your convenience, extending beyond traditional 9-to-5 hours.

NDT Levels: Understanding your qualifications

Level I

NDT Level I personnel are qualified to perform specific tasks under close supervision. This includes specific calibrations, NDT applications, and evaluations. They are responsible for recording results accurately but rely on Level II or III guidance for interpretation and broader decision-making.

Level II

NDT Level II personnel are the backbone of NDT inspection teams. They can independently set up and calibrate equipment, a crucial skill for ensuring data integrity. They are qualified to interpret and evaluate results based on relevant codes, standards, and specifications. Level II personnel should have a strong awareness of technique limitations and be able to effectively organize and report their findings. Additionally, they may be entrusted with the responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and Level I personnel.

Level III

NDT Level III personnel are the undisputed experts in the field. They possess the knowledge and experience to develop, qualify, and approve NDT procedures, establish new techniques, and provide in-depth interpretations of codes and standards. A strong understanding of applicable materials, fabrication processes, and product technology is essential at this level. Level III personnel are also qualified to train and examine both Level I and Level II personnel, ensuring the overall competence of the NDT team.
